Business funding

Capital, matched to how your business actually works.

We help business owners get positioned for the funding products that fit their business, and guide the process from application to close. Explore each product below, or reach out and we’ll walk through the options with you directly.

Funding strategy & positioning

The product is half the answer. Positioning is the other half.

Before anything is submitted, we work out where a file stands and where it belongs. That is a service in its own right, and it is included with every funding engagement.

  • —Which product fits the need, the profile, and the timeline
  • —How to position the file so the strongest facts lead
  • —What to fix or document before submitting, so the first answer is the right one
  • —Which of our 1,100+ institutional, regional, and private lending relationships the file belongs with

General qualifications

What lenders generally look at

Typical credit guideline

Approximately 650+

A general personal-credit guideline for business lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, and SBA financing. Our HELOC option carries a lighter general guideline of approximately 600+.

General guidelines only — not guaranteed lender approval requirements. Requirements vary by lender and program.

Credit score alone does not determine approval

Depending on the lender and product, underwriting can also review:

  • —Business revenue
  • —Profitability
  • —Cash flow
  • —Existing debt
  • —Time in business
  • —Business bank statements
  • —Tax returns
  • —Financial statements
  • —Personal credit
  • —Other supporting documentation

Negative credit

If your credit history isn’t perfect

For most document-based products, we generally prefer negative items — late payments, collections, charge-offs, defaults, and other derogatory credit — to be approximately two or more years old. More recent negative items can make underwriting more difficult, depending on the lender and program.

These are general guidelines, not guaranteed requirements. If recent items are holding your profile back, our credit repair service may be a place to start — and either way, it’s worth a conversation.

Common questions

Business funding, answered plainly

What credit score do I need?

For most of our document-based products — business lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, and SBA financing — approximately 650+ personal credit is a typical guideline, and approximately 600+ is a general guideline for our HELOC option. These are general guidelines, not cutoffs. Credit score alone does not determine approval: depending on the lender and product, underwriting can also review business revenue, cash flow, time in business, and other factors. Requirements vary by lender and program.

What documents will I need?

It depends on the product and the lender. Commonly requested documents may include business bank statements, business formation information, identification, and — for some products — tax returns and financial statements. Each product page on this site lists the documents commonly requested for that product. Requirements vary by lender and program.

Does one late payment disqualify me?

Generally, no. A single negative item is weighed as part of your overall profile, not in isolation. For most document-based products, we generally prefer negative items — late payments, collections, charge-offs, defaults — to be approximately two or more years old; more recent items can make underwriting more difficult. Subject to lender underwriting and approval.

How long does business funding take?

It varies by product and lender. Some options involve lighter documentation and generally move more quickly, while others — such as SBA financing — typically involve more underwriting and take longer. We don't promise timelines. Once we understand your situation, we can walk you through what to generally expect for the products that fit.

Can TK Capital Solutions help me determine which product fits me?

Yes — that's the core of what we do. We review your business, your credit profile, and your goals, then position you toward the products and lenders that make sense for your situation. TK Capital Solutions is not a lender; all funding is subject to lender underwriting and approval.
